The scrap plant of Bengang Steel Plates Company surpassed its production target for the first half of 2019, which supplied 0.5622 million tons’ scrap with the 55.1% annual plan completed. Meanwhile, a total of 44,500 tons’ non-productive scrap was recollected from Bengang Steel, exceeding the previous target by 23,600 tons.
In June, the scrap supply totaled at 0.1176 million tons, which hit the record highs on June 30, 2019, with the daily supply of around 4,703 tons.
In addition, the factory actively responded to the call of “more scrap consumption, less iron ore consumption, and more steel output” by Bengang Steel. The plant put around 10 tons of scrap per torpedo. In July, there were 1143 bottles of torpedoes which contained scrap, around 11,230 tons. Meanwhile, the iron consumption came to 962kg per ton in steelmaking. For the first half of 2019, the total amount of torpedo contained scrap was 2,612 bottles, totaled at 22,637 tons, which made 6.87 million yuan for the company.
In the first half of 2019, the plant cut scrap for 64,200 tons, saving 148 million yuan for Bengang Steel.
