Iron ore shipments to China from Australia’s Port Hedland terminal, the
world’s biggest iron ore port, dropped by 1% to 39.74 million tons in
September from 40.16 million tons in August, port data showed on
Saturday.
Overall iron ore shipments totaled at 45.57 million tons in September,
down 1% from 46.07 million tons in August.
Port Hedland is used by three of Australia's top four iron ore miners,
BHP Billiton, Fortescue Metals Group and Gina Rinehart's Hancock
Prospecting.
