Metals miner Aeris Resources has reported a slight decline in copper production for the September quarter, compared with the June quarter, while first gold production was added to the company’s profile from the Cracow mine.

Copper production in the three months to September reached 6 044 t, at an all-in sustaining cost (AISC) of A$3.33/lb, compared with the 6 672 t produced in the June quarter, at an AISC of A$3.23/lb.

While the ore tonnage mined at the Tritton copper mine, in New South Wales, increased during the September quarter, head grade declined from 1.7% to 1.58% copper.

Meanwhile, Aeris on Wednesday reported that the Cracow mine, in Queensland, had produced 21 246 oz of gold during its first quarter within the Aeris portfolio.

Aeris acquired the Cracow mine from gold miner Evolution Mining for A$125-million in June this year, with the transaction completed in July.

For the full 2021, Aeris is expecting gold production at Cracow to reach between 70 000 oz and 75 000 oz, at an AISC of between A$1 525/oz and A$1 575/oz.

Aeris is also reviewing the mine plan at Cracow, targeting opportunities to increase ore production in line with the upgraded processing capacity.

Meanwhile copper production from Tritton is expected to reach between 23 500 t and 24 500 t in the full year, at an AISC of between A$3.60/lb and A$3.75/lb.
