According to the data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey imported a total of around 1.44 million tons of bloom and billet in 2020, reducing by 6.5% compared to the previous year.
The import value reached roughly US$628.3 million in 2020, a year-on-year decrease of 14%.
Among them, the imports from Russia were around 923,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 5.9%, accounting for the largest proportion. Ukraine and Belarus ranked second and third, with a separate volume of roughly 350,000 tons and 36,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 1.5% and 78.9% respectively.
