XVII Steel Development Strategy Conference, hosted by SteelHome, was
successfully held in Shanghai Tower during 9-11 April, 2021. Over 1,000
delegates from governments, associations, steel mills, miners, traders,
research institutes and media attended.

Summary of speeches:
In 2020, the overall performance of China's automobile industry was
better than expected, with annual sales of 25.31 million vehicles. The
year-on-year growth rate narrowed to less than 2%, and the sales volume
continued to rank first in the world.
In 2020, China’s commercial
vehicle production and sales reached 5.23 million and 5.13 million
respectively, with a year-on-year growth of 20.0% and 18.7%
respectively; new energy vehicle production and sales reached 1.366
million and 1.367 million respectively, with a year-on-year growth of
7.5% and 10.9% respectively; electric vehicle production and sales
reached 1.105 million and 1.115 million respectively, with a
year-on-year growth of 5.4% and 11.6% respectively.
It is estimated that the total sales volume of China’s automobiles in
2021 will be about 26.3 million, with a year-on-year increase of
4%.Among them, the sales volume of passenger cars is expected to exceed
21.7 million, with a year-on-year increase of about 7.5%; the sales
volume of commercial vehicles is expected to be about 4.6 million, with
a year-on-year decrease of about 10%. The development of new energy
vehicles will be stable and good, with the sales volume expected to
exceed 1.8 million, with a year-on-year increase of about 40%.New energy
vehicles have entered a new stage of development.
The next five years is the key period for China’s automobile industry to
realize industrial transformation and upgrading, and will enter a new
stage of high-quality development and achieve steady growth. In 2021,
China’s auto market will show a slow growth trend, and will remain
stable in the next five years. In 2025, auto sales are expected to reach
30 million. |
