【Summary of speeches】

In 2020, China steel production maintained steady growth. According to the data released by the National Bureau of Statistics, China produced crude steel of 1.065 trillion tons in 2020, up 7% year on year. Crude steel of special steel of CSSE member steelworks totaled 86.85 million tons, up 1.8% year on year.

Finished steel products export dropped substantially, while imports increased significantly in 2020. According to data released by the General Administration of Customs, China exported steel products of 53.67 million tons in 2020, down 16.5% year on year. Steel import totaled 20.23 million tons, up 644% year on year.

With strong domestic demand, Chinese steel production did not bring consumption pressure on the global steel market, but shared the prosperity of the Chinese market with the world.
