According to statistics, the US exported a total of roughly 1.6 million tons of scrap in March, hiking by 18.8% compared to the previous month and also rising by 16.9% from the same month a year earlier.
Among them, the exports to Turkey accounted for the largest proportion, totaling roughly 462,000 tons, followed by Mexico’s 330,000 tons and Taiwan’s 152,000 tons.
During the period, the Port of New York was the largest port of scrap exports, with a transport volume of roughly 324,500 tons, followed by the Port of Los Angeles’ 252,000 tons and the Port of Laredo’s 200,000 tons.
