Construction steel: 20mm HRB400 rebar averaged at
5,312 yuan/t, up 38 yuan/t from previous trading day. Most of marketplaces
saw the price hike of 10-80 yuan per ton.
Medium plate: 20mm Q235 medium plate price
averaged at 5,728 yuan/t in 28 domestic markets, up 19 yuan/t. In East
China, the price, except Fuzhou city, went up by 10-30 yuan per ton; In
Central South China, except Wuhan and Zhengzhou’s stability, the prices
rose by 20-40 yuan per ton; in Southwest China and Northwest China, the
price, except Guiyang city’s stability and Lanzhou’s price of 100 yuan,
went up by 10-30 yuan per ton; In North China, the price grew up by 10-30
yuan per ton, except the stability in Beijing, Shijiazhuang and Baotou
cities.
HRC: 5.75mm Q235 HRC average price was
5,796 yuan/t in 28 domestic markets, up 12 yuan/t. In East China, the
price was up by 10-30 yuan per ton, except the stability in Shanghai; in
Central South, the price was up by 10-20 yuan per ton, except stability in
Changsha and Wuhan cities; in Southwest China and Northwest China, the
price was up by 10-30 yuan per ton, except the stability in Guiyang and
XiAn cities; in North China, the price was up by 10-30 yuan per ton,
versus the stability in Beijing, Tianjin and Changchun cities.
CRC: Average price of 1.0mm SPCC CRC
was 6,493 yuan/t in 28 domestic markets, up 6 yuan/t. In East China, the
price was up by 10-30 yuan per ton, except the stability in Nanjing, Jinan
and Nanchang cities; in Central South China, the price was up by 20 yuan
per ton in Lecong and Nanning cities, versus the stability in others; in
North China, Tianjin market went up by 30 yuan, against stability in
others. Western markets remained stable.
II Raw Materials
Carbon billet market price in Tangshan
increased by 20 yuan to 5,100 yuan/t (ex-works) on September 6. The
suppliers on the morning raised the price by 20-30 yuan to 5140-5160 yuan/t,
and then in the afternoon, they offered another rise of 60 yuan to
5200-5220 yuan per ton. The lofty quotation was accompanied with active
trading volume.
However, the finished steel products
reported tepid transactions. In view of strict environmental protection
move, SteelHome expects that billet price will keep going up in short run.
On September 6, iron ore market price
plummeted sharply. SteelHome data showed that China
Domestic Iron Ore Price Index (SHCNDOI) 65% stood at 1,310
yuan/t and SteelHome
Imported Iron Ore Price Index (SHCNIOI) 62% decreased by
7.52 dollars to 137.94 dollars/t.
At Chinese ports, the imported iron ore
price slid as well. For instance, at Qingdao port, PB fines price was 990
yuan/t; at Jingtang port, PB price was 1,060 yuan/t.
As Secex data showed, Brazil exported
34.8361 million tons of iron ore in August, a rise of 9.93 percent from
July data or up 11.68 percent on year.
