According to statistics from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs, the country’s scrap imports totaled around 406,000 tons in September this year, increasing by 4.5% compared to the previous month.
Among them, the imports from the US accounted for the largest proportion, totaling roughly 161,500 tons, a year-on-year increase of nearly 91%; followed by Japan’s 81,300 tons and Australia’s 37,700 tons.
In the first nine months of this year, Vietnam’s scrap imports amounted to approximately 4.94 million tons, up by 15% year on year.
