Nippon Steel Corporation, the largest steel mill in Japan, announced that it is considering delaying the restart of the No. 3 blast furnace at its Nagoya Works under refurbishment by another three weeks due to the postponed recovery in demand for steel sheets used in automobiles.
Japan’s automobile industry is still facing some problems such as a long-term shortage of semiconductors currently. The steel demand is likely to be impacted by the uncertainty of the automobile industry in the future.
