According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey’s rebar exports totaled around 1.7 million tons in the first quarter of this year, rising by nearly 4% compared to the same period a year ago. The export value during the period reached roughly US$1.2 billion, a year-on-year increase of 41%.
Among them, the top three export destinations were Israel (around 368,400 tons, up by 48.5% year on year), Yemen (around 263,800 tons, up by 53.8% year on year), and Canada (around 114,800 tons).
In March alone, Turkey exported around 686,500 tons of rebar, up by 26% month on month and by 11.7% year on year. The export value was US$499 million, a month-on-month hike of 30.7% and a year-on-year growth of 44.7%.
