India’s Tata Steel will invest approximately US$273 million in its subsidiaries, Tinplate Company India Ltd. (TCIL) and Indian Wire and Steel Products Ltd. (ISWPL).
The TCIL output of tinplate in cut sheets, coil form, and Tin Free Steel (TFS) was 379,000 tons annually. The primary production from ISWPL was galvanized wires and TMT rebars.
Apart from that, there is not enough scope for the company’s Jamshedpur plant to expand. Therefore, it will concentrate on increasing the production at the Kalinganagar plant and acquiring Tata Steel Bhushan Steel Ltd (TS BSL) and Neelachal Ispat Nigam Ltd (NINL).
