According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey exported a total of around 2.2 million tons of rebar in the first four months of this year, sliding by 2.4% compared to the same period a year ago. The export value during the period was around US$1.6 billion, a year-on-year hike of nearly 31%.
Among them, the top three export destinations were Israel (around 468,600 tons, a year-on-year increase of 37%), Yemen (around 332,500 tons, a year-on-year hike of 7.7%), and Canada (around 173,600 tons, a year-on-year surge of 743.9%).
In April alone, Turkey's rebar exports totaled roughly 521,300 tons, down by 23% month on month and by 17.2% year on year. The export value was US$413 million, falling by 16.4% from May but rising by nearly 9% from April 2021.
