According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey exported around 116,000 tons of hot-rolled coil (HRC) in April this year, falling by 37.4% compared to the previous month and also dropping by 23% from the same month a year ago.
The export value during the period totaled roughly US$115 million, a month-on-month decrease of 13.2% and a year-on-year drop of 19%.
In the first four months of this year, Turkey’s HRC exports amounted to approximately 475,000 tons, down by 16.3% year on year. The export value was up by 13.4% year on year to roughly US$434.2 million.
Among them, the biggest export destination was Egypt, with a volume of around 142,000 tons, followed by Italy’s 75,000 tons.
