According to Indian Customs, India exported approximately 140,000 tons of steel billet in July, falling by 41.7% from the previous month. The export volume in July fell sharply due to the price difference between the overseas and the domestic markets, which led India's steel mills to focus on domestic sales.
From January to July, India's steel billet export volume slid by 50% year on year to about 1.76 million tons, compared to 3.5 million tons in the same period a year ago.
