As per statistics from General Administration of Customs, China exported
steel of 6.153 million tons in August, up 1.1 million tons or 21.8% year
on year. Steel import in August totaled 893,000 tons, down 170,000 tons
or 16% year on year.
In January-August, 2022, China exported steel of 46.225 million tons,
down 1.853 million tons or 3.9% year on year. Import totaled 7.453
million tons, down 2.007 million tons or 21.2%.
