According to statistics, Vietnam’s ferrous scrap imports totaled around 329,000 tons in August this year, hiking by 51.6% compared to the preceding month and by 10.7% from the year-ago period. The import volume rebounded in August, while it was still lower than the monthly average imports, due to weak steel demand.
In the first eight months of this year, Vietnam imported a total of roughly 3.1 million tons of ferrous scrap, sliding by 32% from the same period a year earlier.
