According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey exported around 4.1 million tons of rebar in the first eight months of this year, dropping by 16% compared to the year-ago period. The export value during the period was up by 4.4% year on year to around US$3 billion.
Among them, the top three export destinations were Israel (around 698,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 0.3%), Yemen (around 489,200 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 15.3%), and the US (around 326,100 tons, a year-on-year surge of nearly 100%).
In August alone, Turkey's rebar exports totaled roughly 584,000 tons, rising by 55% month on month and down by 5.4% year on year. The export value was up by 36% month on month and down by 11% year on year to US$384.5 million.
