According to data from the Turkish Steel Producers’ Association (TCUD), in September, Turkey’s scrap imports were about 1.39 million tons, decreasing by 13.9% month on month and falling by 13.3% year on year.
In the first nine months of this year, the scrap imports were 16.88 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 10.5%. The scrap import value was US$8.2 billion, decreasing by 0.5% from the same period of last year.
Among them, the EU was main Turkey’s scrap import source, with 8.6 million tons, decreasing by 12.1% year on year.
