According to statistics from the Russian Special Steel and Alloys Consumers and Suppliers Association (USSA), Russia imported around 27,000 tons of stainless steel in November, down by 2% compared to the previous month and by 47.4% from the same month a year ago.
Among them, the imports of cold-rolled stainless steel dropped by 24.6%, welded pipes decreased by 13.3%, wire slid by 12%, hot-rolled stainless steel grew by 63%, long products increased by 30%, and stainless steel seamless pipes rose by 0.1%, all on a month-on-month basis.
China was the largest supplier of Russia’s stainless steel, with a share of 62.6%.
In the first 11 months of this year, Russia’s stainless steel imports amounted to approximately 315,800 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 3.5%. The drop was mainly due to the war between Russia and Ukraine.
