According to data from the Ukrainian steelmakers' association Ukrmetallurgprom, in the first two months of 2024, Ukraine's flat steel products exports soared by 323.4% year on year to about 271,000 tons, while semi-finished steel exports were 333,000 tons, hiking by 208.3% from the same period a year ago. Meanwhile, the section steel exports went up by 76.4% year on year to 97,000 tons.
On the contrary, Ukraine's flat steel product imports were nearly 146,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 43.3%. The section steel imports went down by 12.4% from the corresponding period a year go to about 23,000 tons.
