I Steel
SteelHome (China) Steel Price Index
(SHCNSI)
was 97.37 points (4,212 yuan) on 5 March 2019, up 0.07% or 3 yuan per
ton from the previous trading day. Steel price in key markets slightly
saw obvious hike. Details are as below:
Construction steel:
averaged price in 28 domestic markets saw both stability and decline,
and now, 20mm HRB400 rebar averaged at 3994 yuan per ton, down 8 yuan
per ton from previous trading day. Price basically fell off by 10-40
yuan/t in East China markets; Price decreased by 10-20 yuan.t in Nanning,
Beijing and Shijiazhuang markets, while price in Central South China,
North China and most of West China markets was stable.
Medium plate:
20mm Q235B medium plat price averaged at 4027 yuan per ton in 28
domestic markets, unchanged from previous trading day. Among them, price
decreased by 10-20 yuan/t in Shanghai and Jinan markets, while price
hiked by 20 yuan/t in Wuhan market. The rest kept stable.
HRC:
Price saw both hike and decline. 5.75mm Q235B HRC average price was
decreased by 5 yuan per ton to 3899 yuan per ton in 28 domestic markets.
Price decreased by 10-30 yuan/t in Shanghai, Hangzhou, Nanchang,
Beijing, Tianjin, Shenyang, Changchun and Harbin markets except 20 yuan
increase in Baotou market.
CRC:
average price of 1.0mm SPCC CRC was 4369 yuan per ton in 28 domestic
markets, up 2 yuan per ton from previous trading day. Price hiked by
20-40 yuan/t in Chongqing, Kunming, Chengdu, Guiyang and Xi’an markets,
while decreased by 10 yuan/t in Nanchang and 50 yuan/t in Urumqi. The
rest was stable.

II Raw Materials
On 5 March, Tangshan common billet price was decreased by 10 yuan to
3500 yuan per ton, (cash, tax included, ex-works). Spot products in
Tangshan billet market were priced at 3540-3550 yuan per with sparse
transactions. Most of downstream re-rollers were asked to stop
production affected by environment policy.
On 5 March, iron ore markets fluctuated. SteelHome data showed that
China Domestic Iron Ore Price Index (SHCNDOI)
65%
was 760 yuan per ton, unchanged and SteelHome Imported Iron Ore Price
Index (SHCNIOI) 62% was 86.23 dollars per
ton, down 0.96 dollars/t..
Spot ore transacting price overall decreased by 5-7 yuan/t on at China
ports, For instance, PB fines trading price was 628 yuan per ton at
Rizhao port and PB fines at Jingtang port were traded at 630 yuan per
ton with increasing transactions.
Seaborne iron ore markets saw
fluctuated. GlobalORE trading price was 2.5 dollars lower than 62% PM
index in March for 0.08 million tons Mark fines with laycan during 19-28
March 2019.
