As per statistics from the General Administration of Customs, China
exported 6.327 million tons of steel products in March 2019, up 676,000
tons or 12% year on year; imports in March were 899,000 tons, down
335,000 tons or 27.1% year on year. The
cumulative steel exports in the first three months of 2019 were 17.025
million tons, increasing 1.9 million tons or 12.6% year on year. The
cumulative steel imports in the first three months of 2019 were 2.897
million tons, decreasing 554,000 tons or 16.1% year on year.
