SteelHome (China) Steel Price Index (SHCNSI) was 97.46 points (4,216 yuan) on 5 June 2019, up 0.02 point (1 yuan) from the previous trading day. Steel price in key markets saw both stability and hike, and flat products price vibrantly adjuested. Details are as below:

Construction steel: 20mm HRB400 rebar averaged at 4053 yuan per ton, up 5 yuan/t from previous trading day. Among them, price hiked by 10-30 yuan/t in East China, Central South China, North China and West China markets against 30 yuan reduction in Urumqi market.

Medium plate: 20mm Q235B medium plat price averaged at 4039 yuan per ton in 28 domestic markets, down 3 yuan/t from previous trading day. Price decreased by 10-20 yuan/t in Hangzhou, Wuxi, Hefei, Guangzhou, Changsha, Wuhan and Xi’an markets against stability in the rest.

HRC: Price slightly fluctuated. 5.75mm Q235B HRC average price was decreased by 3 yuan to 3932 yuan per ton in 28 domestic markets. Among the whole markets, price hiked by 10 yuan/t in Shanghai and Tianjin markets, while price decreased by 10-50 yuan/t in Wuxi, Nanchang, Taiyuan and Lanzhou markets. The rest was stable.

CRC: average price of 1.0mm SPCC CRC was 4287 yuan per ton in 28 domestic markets, basically unchanged from previous trading day. Price was stable except 10-20 yuan/t reduction in Nanjing, Wuxi, Jinan, Changsha, Chongqing and Chengdu markets.

II Raw Materials

On 5 June, Tangshan common billet price was increased by 10 yuan to 3550 yuan per ton, (cash, tax included, ex-works). Spot products in Tangshan billet market were priced at 3620 yuan per with flat transaction.

On 5 June, iron ore market saw both stability and hike. SteelHome data showed that China Domestic Iron Ore Price Index (SHCNDOI) 65% was 847 yuan per ton, unchanged and SteelHome Imported Iron Ore Price Index (SHCNIOI) 62% was 99.45 dollars per ton, up 0.93 dollar/t from previous day.

Spot ore transacting price changed a little at China ports, For instance, PB fines trading price was 755 yuan per ton at Rizhao port and PB fines at Tianjin port were traded at 770 yuan per ton with increasing transactions.

Seaborne market slightly fluctuated with tight resources.
