SteelHome (China) Steel Price Index
(SHCNSI)
was 97.3 points (4,209 yuan) on 6 March 2019, down 0.07% or 3 yuan per
ton from the previous trading day. Steel price in key markets slightly
continued to vibrantly fall. Details are as below:
Construction steel:
20mm HRB400 rebar averaged at 3989 yuan per ton, down 5 yuan per ton
from previous trading day. Price basically fell off by 10-20 yuan/t in
East China, Central South China, North China and Southwest China
markets; while price hiked by 20-50 yuan/t in Zhengzhou and Baotou
markets.
Medium plate:
20mm Q235B medium plat price averaged at 4028 yuan per ton in 28
domestic markets, down 1 yuan/t from previous trading day. Among them,
price decreased by 10-30 yuan/t in Wuxi, Jinan, Nanchang, Lecong,
Beijing, Changchun and Xi’an markets, while respectively hiked by 10
yuan/t and 40 yuan/t in Fuzhou and Lanzhou markets.
HRC:
Price saw both hike and decline. 5.75mm Q235B HRC average price was
decreased by 10 yuan per ton to 3892 yuan per ton in 28 domestic
markets. Price decreased by 10-40 yuan/t in East China, Central South
China, North China, Northeast China and Southwest China markets.
CRC:
average price of 1.0mm SPCC CRC was 4442 yuan per ton in 28 domestic
markets, up 5 yuan per ton from previous trading day. Price went down by
20 yuan/t in Nanchang and Urumqi markets, while went up by 20-50 yuan/t
in Hefei, Fuzhou, Nanning, Changsha, Wuhan, Guiyang and Xi’an markets.

II Raw Materials
On 6 March, Tangshan common billet price was stabilized at 3500 yuan per
ton, (cash, tax included, ex-works). Spot products in Tangshan billet
market were priced at 3540-3560 yuan per. Transactions turned out with
lower price.
On 6 March, iron ore markets fluctuated. SteelHome data showed that
China Domestic Iron Ore Price Index (SHCNDOI)
65%
was 760 yuan per ton, unchanged and SteelHome Imported Iron Ore Price
Index (SHCNIOI) 62% was 87.2 dollars per
ton, up 0.97 dollar/t..
Spot ore transacting price saw both stability and hike at China ports,
For instance, PB fines trading price was 635 yuan per ton at Rizhao port
and PB fines at Jingtang port were traded at 635 yuan per ton with
sparse transactions.
Seaborne iron ore markets weakly ran.
GlobalORE trading price was 98.3 dollars/t for 0.17 million tons
65%Carajas fines with laycan during 14-23 March 2019.
